In these censuses he's living with Mary and daughter Mary Ann. Interestingly, I was wondering if Mary's father Francis is P54 (quite possible given its all in Norton Subcourse and there aren't other Francis Shardalows around) but that would mean maybe she was born before he was married - he married Sarah Sewell, we think not long after Mary was born. | Family: PLAYFORD, William / SHARDALOW, Mary (F418)
|
156 | Pearl was a divorcee having married Ray Snyder in 1909, aged 20. It seems bizarre that she would have married Ray A Snyder in 1909, divorced him then married Ray O Snyder in 1923, aged 33 - but that's what it looks like. They divorced and then remarried but 2nd marriage definitely says she was a divorcee and him not. This is work in progress. | Family: SNYDER, Ray O / SHARDELOW, Pearl M (F468)

198 | Some doubt whether the 5 Surlingham born children are part of the same family as the 3 Beighton born children. Did they move about 1757? The dates make this entirely possible, there are no births that make pregnancies too close. Surlingham to Beighton is a 15 mile drive these days but the Surlingham Ferry existed in the 18th century. The pub 'The Ferry' was opened in 1725, so assuming the Ferry was there in 1757 they could have made the 7 mile journey. At some stage at least the ferry was a 'horse ferry', so a cart and horse journey was feasible. | Family: SHARDELOW, Edward / Mary (F442)
